PREGN

Members of parliament on the committee for parliamentary forum for children have appealed to non-government organizations to start providing evidence based solutions on how government should reduce on the increasing cases of child maternal health.

The call comes at a time when statistics reveal that a total of 40.000 children die every year and to members of parliament  on the committee for children affairs a number of solutions have been suggested to over come this.

However Ngora district woman member of parliament Hon. Jacqueline Amoding argues that without motivating the health personnel’s especially doctors nothing will be achieved to eliminate this cause.

Earlier, a delegation of save the children from Norway and United Kingdoms who are on a tour in Uganda to access the impact of maternal health visited Nakaseke referral hospital and donated a cheque  worth 10.000 dollars towards the renovation of maternal ward to reduce on maternal child death where the district hospital administrator appealed for the government to provide a solar energy as the hospital receives power twice a week.

With Uganda being ranked as one of the countries in Africa with high deaths of maternal health and as we celebrate 50 years of independence, politicians, religious leaders, non government organizations are  fighting hard to save the lives of 16 million children and mothers by 2015.
